Experts Meeting Series: Legal Aspects of the Armenian 'Genocide' claims

The first round of the meetings related to the legal aspects of the Armenian "genocide" claims was organized by GPoT center on 31st January in Istanbul.

The first round of the meetings related to the legal aspects of the Armenian "genocide" claims was organized by GPoT center on 31st January in Istanbul. The meeting was organized with the intention to discuss tools with respect within international law; i.e. international agreements and conventions, that could be considered as examples for Turkey to determine its position with respect to the subject matter. The participants of the meeting included retired ambassadors of Turkish MFA, experts on international law, academicians and members of the Parliament. The second round of the meetings is planned to take place in February 2009 and at the end of the meeting series, a public conference will be organized by GPoT center that will include the launch of a policy paper prepared on the subject.
