The 11th Round of the Heybeliada Talks

GPoT Center organized the 11th Round of the Heybeliada Talks with the support of Friedrich Naumann Foundation on the 17th of December, 2011.

The meeting took place in the Home for Cooperation in the Buffer Zone in Cyprus with the participation of Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot political party leaders, civil society activists, academics and opinion leaders. After the Director of GPoT Center, Dr. Mensur Akgün's and the Resident Representative of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, Mr. Joerg Dehnert's welcoming speeches, the President of the United Democrats, Ms. Praxoula Antoniadou Kyriacou started the discussion with her kick-off speech. In the following sessions of the meeting, Possibility of the Solution to the Cyprus Question, Prospects of the Republic of Cyprus' EU Presidency and Hydrocarbon Licensing in Eastern Mediterranean topics were discussed. The meeting was concluded by the Deputy Director of GPoT Center, Dr. Sylvia Tiryaki.
