Preparatory Workshop on social development and human security in the BMENA region

GPoT Center participated at the Preparatory Workshop on social development and human security in the BMENA region.

GPoT Center’s Project Assistant Nigar Hacızade attended the Preparatory Workshop entitled “Social Development: A New Perspective on Human Security in the BMENA Region,” held in Doha, Qatar between 12-13 October.

The workshop, part of the series of gatherings in preparation for the Forum for the Future in November 2009, was organized by the Arab Democracy Foundation, National Human Rights Committee of Qatar and No Peace Without Justice in partnership with the co-Chairs of this year’s Forum for the Future, Italy and Morocco.

Ms. Hacızade attended the working group on state-civil society partnership that discussed “democratic reform as basis for human security”, and introduced the executive summary of the upcoming book GPoT will publish in November, entitled "Towards a Better Life: How to Improve the State of Democracy in the Middle East and North Africa."
